Agapedia celebrates 25 years of activity in the interest of citizens and the community.

In the context of COVID-19 pandemic, the educational program for parents and children went online.

2019

The educational program for parents and children celebrates two years of constant activities that aimed to prevent school dropout and absenteeism.

Agapedia  Foundation Romania had organized on June 26, 2019, in Bucharest, together with Ministry of Regional Development and Public Administration (MDRAP), Priority Area 10 – “Institutional Capacity and Cooperation Development” of the European Union Strategy for the Danube Region (EUSDR), Danube Civil Society, with the support of the State Ministry of Baden-Württemberg (Germany), the international event “6th Danube Participation Day, 2019”.

“Youth Voice Society” – the local action group initiated by young people from Brașov County has developed a project on health education.

The Foundation’s representatives took part in the international meeting “Methodius Days 2019” organized at Ellwangen, DE.

Agapedia is co-organizer of the conference “National Participation Days in Romania” from Tulcea, an event initiated by the Ministry of Regional Development and Public Administration (MDRAP), in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, within the framework of the EU Strategy for the Danube Region.

Between January – April 2019, Agapedia representatives had implemented “Puberty and Adolescence” project, funded by TELUS International Romania Foundation.

2018

Agapedia becomes member of the Romanian Consultative Council for the Danube Strategy – EUSDR.

Agapedia organized the event “Participation Day” in the context of the EU Strategy for the Danube Region. It was formed the local action group “Youth Voice Society”.

Agapedia is the co-organizer of the conference “Social Services between Law and Practice – Regress or Evolution?”, that took place in November, in Brasov city.

Agapedia is founding member of the Association of the Community Cluster of Social Economy.

Between May – October 2018, Agapedia carried out non-formal programs within the project “Integrated measures for combating poverty and social exclusion in Hăghig commune, Covasna County”, POCU SMIS 115384.

The Foundation’s representatives took part in various international events parts of the project “Creative Danube”.

Agapedia is associate partner in the project “Developing an E-learning tool for Environmental Education for Primary and Secondary School in the Lower Danube Region” lead by Slovenian NGO, the Institute for Integral Development and Environment (ICRO – Inštitut za celostni razvoj in okolje, Domžale).

The educational program for parents and children is involving 11 families with 25 children. The program is possible with the support of: SCHAEFFLER Romania,  CVJM Steinheim, DUVENBECK și ETHICA Distribuţie.

2017

Starting September 2017, Agapedia Romania Foundation implements an educational program for parents and children.

Agapedia Germany publishes the online version of „DonauWandel” publication, result of implementing the international projects: „DonauWandel” and „Jugend in Wandel” (Youth in Transition), financed by Baden-Württemberg Land Foundation and the Federal Ministry of Baden Württemberg Land.

Holiday, creative and educational workshops, were organized for children at Agapedia headquarter.

In April, the social service – „Counselling and support centre for parents and children” is closed.

2016

Within Agapedia Romania Foundation, is functioning a new social service – „Counselling and support centre for parents and children” which aims at supporting and assisting parents and future parents to handle socio – psychological difficulties that have an impact on family relationship and on the development of parental competences, and in supporting children with development problems.

In November,  Agapedia Romania Foundation was involved in organizing the third conference of Federation of Social NGOs in Transylvania, with the theme “Social Innovation for an inclusive society”.

In November 2016, Agapedia closed the service of Assistance and support for children and families through which we provided integrated social services to families and children in need, with the purpose of maintaining children and families together and renewal or development of individual capacities for overcoming a social need situation.

Agapedia Romania organized in Sacele Brasov County, Agapedia international ArtCamp 2016 where youngsters and members of the Agapedia International Network participated.

Agapedia offered non formal training services – education for health – in Haghig commune, Covasna County.

The Foundation’s representatives continued to develop the concept „Agapedia SocialBiz”, a generic term under which are offered economic activities at Agapedia Romania Foundation.

2015

Agapedia is founding member of the Federation of Social NGOs in Transylvania.

Agapedia starts its collaboration with FAST –   Foundation for Social Assistance and Youth, in the Day Centre for Children at Risk in Sacele.

Agapedia become partner in the project “Danube Social Service & Education Cluster” an international initiave financed through START programme of EU Strategy for the Danube Region (EUSDR). Partners: Federation of Social NGOs in Bulgaria, Agapedia Foundation Romania, Libenau Foundation Germany, Concordia Austria Foundation.

Agapedia is partner in the international project „Jugend im Wandel” (Youth in transition). The project is a continuation of DonauWandel initiative, who was implemented between 2012 and 2014 and meant organizing meetings and forums in domains: youth, education, social, civic, with involving of institutions and organizations from the Danube Region – Germany, Austria, Croatia, Serbia, Hungary, Ukraine, Romania, Bulgaria and Moldavia.

2014

Agapedia starts implementing “RurAbility – integrated project to improve the employment rate of persons employed in subsistence agriculture, and unemployed people from rural areas of Brasov County” co-financed through the 2007-2013 “Invest in People!” Operational Sectorial Human Resources Development Program.

Agapedia starts implementing “Workability – multidisciplinary initiative for increasing the employment rate and employment capacity of inactive persons on the labour market and long-term unemployed people in Brasov County” co-financed through the 2007-2013 “Invest in People!” Operational Sectorial Human Resources Development Program.

Agapedia was authorized by National Authority to organize new authorized courses. Qualification courses for adults for: commercial worker, food worker and maid; and specialized program for entrepreneurial competences.

Agapedia implemented “Access to broadband and connected services for Agapedia Foundation Romania” programme co-financed through European Regional Development Fund.

Agapedia offered educative and recreational activities for Primary schools through “Different school” program.

 2013

We organized holiday workshops and creative workshops for children.

 2012

Agapedia starts implementing „ RurActiv – integrated project to improve the employment rate in Tarlungeni, Apata and Budila Communes (Brasov County, Romania)”, co-financed through the 2007-2013 “Invest in People!” Operational Sectorial Human Resources Development Program (February 2012 – January 2014).

Agapedia contracted “Astra day care centre for children in risk situation” social service from Brasov Social Service Directorate.

First international summer camp is organized in Vlahita, Harghita County.

Agapedia is partner in the international project „DonauWandel”, project who promote the transnational civic participation in accordance with the European Union Strategy for the Danube Region (EUSDR). Funders: Foundation of the Federal State Baden-Württemberg, The State Ministry of Baden-Württemberg, Liebenau Foundation and Diakonie Baden Organization. In the project were involved and took part a number of 216 participants and 77 organizations from Danube countries: Germany, Austria, Croatia, Serbia, Hungary, Ukraine, Romania, Bulgaria and Republic of Moldova.

 2011

Starting with November 1st 2011, AGAPEDIA has a new headquarter in Brasov, Bisericii Romane Street no. 48.

“The home at school” – project initiated by School no. 1 from Făgăraş, was developed in partnership with Agapedia with the purpose to support a group of 45 children whose parents are working abroad.

“The Mobile team for community support” project was among the 20 finalists from Romania for the 2011 Social Integration ERSTE Foundation Award.

 2010

Coordinator and partner in “I prefer to know in advance” project implemented through Susan G. Komen Global Initiative for Cure.

Agapedia becomes member of Child NGO Federation.

Agapedia participates as member in Social Work Communities in Sibiu.

In Zarnesti was organized the first summer camp for children from vulnerable families.

Agapedia closed the maternal assistance service.

 2009

Agapedia was authorized by National Authority for Qualifications to organize training courses for maternal assistants.

Agapedia was partner in “Grundtvig – Innovative Strategies to prevent relapse” project together with other 11 public and private institutions, financed by European Commission through long life learning programme – General Directorate for Education, Audio-visual and Culture.

 2008

Agapedia implemented “Strengthening the partnership between NGOs and local authorities in Romania, Moldavia and Ukraine for implementing European standards for child protection”. The project was financed by Soros Foundation Romania through East-East Partnership beyond Borders.

Agepedia implemented “Puberty and adolescence” project in schools and high schools.

 2007

Agapedia becomes part of County Commission for social inclusion together with other public and/or private institutions.

The Social and Medical Centre for Vulnerable Persons – SocioMed was funded by the First Data Western Union Foundation.

 2006

We opened the Social and medical centre for vulnerable persons – SocioMed, in Brasov, Horia 22A Street.

The Social and Medical Centre for Vulnerable Persons – SocioMed was funded by the Alcoa Foundation.

Agapedia closed the Placement Centre for Abandoned Children aged between 0 and 3 years which functioned for 10 years.

Agapedia becomes member in the Accreditation Committee of social services providers inside Brasov Directorate of Labour, Social Solidarity and Family.

2005

Agapedia participated together with other governmental and non-governmental institutions from Brasov in the local partnership: “Family Health Initiative in Romania” (ISFR Urban), developed with the support of USAID, partnership that aimed at increasing the access of disadvantaged persons to family planning services and reproductive health.

2002

Agapedia participates as founding member in Romanian Professional Federation of Social Care NGOs (PROFAS) which has as members of honour Lady Emma Nicholson, Baroness of Winterbourne and the European Parliament’s rapporteur for Romania.

2000

Foster care network was initiated through employment of first professional maternal assistants.

1997

Agapedia becomes member of Brasov Child Protection Commission.

1996

Agapedia opened the transit family type placement centre with a capacity of 12 places for children aged between 0 and 3 years, in Braşov, Horia Street 22A.

1995

Agapedia Foundation Romania is officially registered and a partnership agreement with Bucharest Institute for Mother and Child Protection is signed.
